Muhammad Waseem has stepped down as UAE men’s ODI captain after 26 matches in charge between 2023 and 2024. Everton aren’t just looking at the ex-Aston Villa star in isolation to bolster their numbers centrally, however, with GIVEMESPORT revealing that Josh Brownhill is also on their agenda.
Indeed, that exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT has highlighted that both Leeds and Everton are locked into a tussle to win the free agent’s services, after the skilful Englishman allowed his Burnley contract to run down.
However, it could be a tall order to win the former Clarets captain’s services, owing to a further development that Toronto FC have offered a bumper £100k-per-week deal to the 29-year-old.
Still, the report states that Everton are pushing to try and convince Brownhill to remain put on English shores, with the potential here for the Manchester-born midfielder to become Moyes’ next Leon Osman in offering plenty of goals and assists in key moments.

After all, much like Brownhill would arrive on the scene for nothing, Osman cost Everton zilch when he emerged up the Merseyside ranks as a homegrown gem.
Amazingly, by the close of his long-winded Everton journey, Osman would have 58 goals and 36 assists next to his name from 433 appearances, with his output not letting up right until his retirement in 2016.

Indeed, just three years before hanging up his boots, Osman – who was donning the Toffees armband on the day – would rifle home a stunning effort against eventual title-winners Manchester City.
Brownhill provided a similar class to proceedings at Turf Moor last season when helping Scott Parker’s men clinch a triumphant promotion back up to the Premier League, as seen in him collecting a mammoth 18 goals and six assists across 42 second-tier outings.
It will just be up to the experienced midfielder to translate this blistering Burnley form to the top-flight, but there are promising signs already that he can perform at the daunting level.
From 111 appearances so far in the difficult division, the “brilliant” midfielder – as he was glowingly labelled by Parker – has six goals and six assists next to his name, with lots more hopefully heading his way when surrounded by better quality teammates at Everton, over consistent relegation dog-fights hitting him in the face.
The hope will just be that Brownhill can be that new Osman-like spark for Moyes to rely upon, having also once been dubbed a “crucial” part of the Turf Moor jigsaw under ex-Burnley boss Vincent Kompany.
Toronto’s excessive offer might well make this deal tricky to pull off, but the 29-year-old could favour a move to Merseyside over an MLS switch, knowing he could be as loved as Osman down the line.

After months of intrigue and innuendo, having come up trumps in a bat off to find Usman Khawaja’s opening partner, Nathan McSweeney endured an initiation in the middle of the WACA in his first session as an Australian Test cricketer.Just days before he makes his Test debut, McSweeney started preparing for the major challenge of fronting up to India’s frontline quicks led by talisman Jasprit Bumrah on an expected fast and bouncy Optus Stadium surface.In Australia’s first training session ahead of the series-opener starting on Friday, the focus was firmly on a wide-eyed McSweeney, who has suddenly had to deal with a lot of attention having mostly flown under the radar before this season.As McSweeney walked out to the middle of the WACA amid a warm sunny morning, with quicks Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc raring to go, some of his new team-mates decided to rib him.”Welcome to Test cricket,” they chirped.McSweeney, 25, was put through a thorough examination on the centre wicket as he took turns with Khawaja and Steven Smith in facing Cummins and Starc with the new ball.It was a baptism of fire and McSweeney looked rather uncomfortable as he played and missed repeatedly. But batting was made more difficult on the western side of the square which sloped away from the right-hander.Smith lamented the conditions, while McSweeney had a torrid time particularly against Cummins who consistently angled in and seamed away down the slope. He finished his maiden session by bowling to Starc and Cummins. His handy offspin likely to be needed at some point during the Test series.”I think nothing but exceptional in my eyes,” Lyon said of McSweeney’s character. “I saw him up close and personal in that Shield game a couple of weeks ago [South Australia vs New South Wales] and I thought we had to run him out to get him out in the game.”I thought his tempo was nice. His timing of his movements were in sync. I’ve got nothing but praise for Nathan the way he’s gone about it. McSweeney will also play a role in shoring up Australia’s slip cordon after the retirement of David Warner, while Cameron Green’s absence also leaves a sizeable hole at gully.On Monday, McSweeney was stationed at third slip for catching practice with Smith on his left at second, Khawaja at first and Marnus Labuschagne in the gully. He also moved to a second gully for a few catches, standing on Labuschagne’s right in an indication that he might be used as a floater and rotate between third and the extra gully depending on where he’s needed.”Early days of my Shield career was at third and a little bit at gully,” McSweeney said. “Undecided exactly where I’m going to field but comfortable in both. Execute the same thing and the same process, same routine.”Ultimately it’s the game of cricket and I know my game.”While he learns to cope with the whirlwind of being a Test cricketer, McSweeney will lean on the support from loved ones descending to Perth in large numbers.”A lot of friends will be there, and mum, dad, my sister, grandad, my partner and a lot of guys I played club cricket with back in Brisbane,” McSweeney said.”Got a great supporter base and great family that’s looked after me and sacrificed a lot. Just looking forward to taking it all in and being able to share the moment with them.”

وكان صبر جماهير بوجون قد بدأ ينفذ بعد إقالة روبرت كوليندويتش ولم يكن هناك مدرب جديد قد تم تعيينه بدلاً منه، لكن يبدو أن الانتظار قد انتهى.

وسيبقى جميع أعضاء الجهاز الفني الحالي لنادي بوجون في النادي وسينضم المدرب الدنماركي إلى النادي مع مساعدين جدد.
وكان توماسبيرج قد تلقى إشادة من أحد الصحفيين الدنماركيين قائلاً: “إذا كنت تريد لفريقك تحقيق نتائج جيدة كل أسبوع ولا يهمك إن كان أسلوبك أشبه بتيكي تاكا، فهذا هو المدرب المناسب لك”.

ويتواجد حالياً توماسبيرج في وارسو حيث يتابع لاعبيه المستقبليين من المدرجات في إحدى المباريات، وكان قد قاد ميتلاند في موسم 2023-2024 للفوز بالدوري الدنماركي وفاز سابقاً بكأس الدنمارك وخاض 115 مباراة.

Crystal Palace could sign an “extraordinary” Champions League player as part of a swap deal involving Eberechi Eze, according to a report.

Eze’s future at Selhurst Park is now in major doubt, amid widespread interest from rival Premier League clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur recently stepping up their interest in the attacking midfielder.
With the 27-year-old eager to join Thomas Frank’s side, a move could be on the cards, but Spurs are far from the only potential suitors, as the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have also been named as interested parties.
Of the aforementioned clubs, the Gunners’ interest appears to be the most advanced, and there have recently been suggestions that Mikel Arteta’s side could be closing in on a deal, having allegedly agreed a total package worth £55m.
However, there is also a possibility that a deal of a different nature could be agreed, according to a report from Football Transfers, which states Crystal Palace have identified Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior as a potential replacement for Marc Guehi.

Guehi has now received an official approach from Man United, while the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have previously been named as potential suitors, which means the Palace captain could be on his way out this summer.
As such, Kiwior could be used as a makeweight in Arsenal’s deal to sign Eze, with Arteta personally keen to take the England international to the Emirates Stadium.

It will, of course, be very difficult for the Eagles to replace their captain, but there are signs that the Poland international, who is valued at over £30m, could be a solid option, having impressed for the Gunners in recent times.

Tottenham Hotspur are attempting an ambitious end to the summer transfer window by backing Thomas Frank with multiple key additions.
Spurs have a few key areas of the first team to reinforce, especially following James Maddison’s long-term ACL injury and club legend Son Heung-min’s departure to MLS.
Dejan Kulusevski is also expected to remain out for a long time yet too, after injuring his knee towards the back end of last season, while defender Radu Dragusin’s own ACL tear in January means he might not be back until December.
As Tottenham’s injury nightmare continues into the Frank era, it is reliably believed that Spurs are targeting three major signings before deadline day on September 1 – a new centre-back, winger and attacking midfielder.
This is backed up by Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge in a Q&A from last week, with the Lilywhites since identifying Bayer Leverkusen star Piero Hincapie as their ideal central defensive target (Paul O’Keefe).

Before any move for the Ecuadorian, though, it is more likely that Tottenham will put pen to paper on a deal for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Eze has already agreed personal terms to join Spurs, according to reliable media sources, with Daniel Levy and Steve Parish holding fresh talks over the 27-year-old’s transfer this week (Fabrizio Romano).
A move for the England international is on the verge of being completed, but final details remain before Spurs can fully seal an agreement for Eze, with Palace also on the hunt for a replacement, which could be Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss.
Alongside Eze, Tottenham have been pursuing Man City winger Savinho in a separate deal (Fabrizio Romano).
The player’s own agent, Frederico Moraes, told Jorge Nicola last week that City rejected a £42 million bid from Spurs for the Brazilian, with Pep Guardiola’s side holding out for closer to the £67 million mark.
Savinho is currently out injured for weeks and missed City’s opening day 4-0 win over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday, and Guardiola is personally keen for the 21-year-old to remain at Eastlands.

The former Girona star would be an absolutely excellent addition for Frank.
Savinho was a key member of the Girona side that shockingly competed for a La Liga title in 2023/2024, bagging 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions that year, and he managed double digits for assists again last season at City.
He can play both on the right and left-hand sides too, as well as through the middle on occasion, so the South American would be an adept replacement for Son and cover for Kulusevski.
Despite Guardiola’s stance, City’s price tag and his injury, journalist Graeme Bailey has told TBR Football that Spurs have no intention of throwing the towel in when it comes to signing the player.
It is believed that Tottenham held fresh talks over a deal for Savinho on Sunday, and the forward is adamant behind-the-scenes that a move to Spurs is something he’d be open to.
As well as this, Levy is apparently ready to spend over £60 million on his potential signing, and any fee beyond that mark would come much closer to City’s reported asking price.
This is definitely still one to watch in the coming days, as Savinho will want guaranteed game time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
